I am a bit confused by the term "fader". I don't see myself leaving any time soon but may execute a fade in about 30 years at the outside. Am I a fader?

My intruction on JWD. Hi!
by easyreader1970 ini posted this in my profile but since i've never formally introduced myself, i thought i would print it here as well as my official "hello" message.
i am currently an active jw.
i don't want to be but the situation i am in doesn't allow me to do anything differently.

Hi and welcome. I can relate. I have a husband who is certainly not a zealot but whenever I raise any questions his eyes glaze over and he gives the standard JW responses. I cannot break past that. I'm afraid to push the issue further in case he goes to the elders. If I pulled out CoC he would probably have a heart attack. I have children too and it was after they were born I really started thinking about the sort of life I want them to have. Certainly not mine.
I am almost decided that for now I have to stay in until circumstances change. I'm waiting for a tipping point, not sure what it is but I'll know it when I see it.

If BS info is true - POs failed the test
by grassyknoll07 inwhy would the fds only send this notice to pos?
sounds like a loyalty test -- which they failed.
maybe there is some truth to the jan 13 rumor (po position to be eliminated).

Yes but if they can't trust the P.O's who can they trust?!
I don't know about all this. How if the field service going to work? I think the groups will still exist for field service and oversight purposes, just not the book study.

Your most memorable Kingdom Hall meeting disruptions!
by easyreader1970 ini remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.
the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.
they weren't just happened upon, though.

There was a story going around a few years ago but I'm not sure if it was an urban legend. It involved a sister wearing a belt standing up and getting someone's wig caught on the buckle. Hilarity ensued and someone fell off their chair and broke their collarbone.

To be honest I have a harder time understanding why anyone would choose to join the organization as an adult. I'm 3rd generation and although I wonder why I didn't wake up sooner, many do not at all.

During the mid-seventies, there was a population explosion in our congregation and I recall that we had around 35 children of pre-school age.
You mean the one right after 1975 when everyone decided they may as well have children as Armageddon hadn't come?

What if they are about to "close the ark door"?
by Mickey mouse inwe know the book study is about to be cut.
i am reading talk here of the preaching work being declared "over" and possible changes in disfellowshipping policy.. we know the wbts is running low on funds.
they don't make money from the literature and the new recruits are going straight back out of the revolving door.

OK, so does no one else remember the "ark door analogy" or does the idea just suck in general?!
